Outline planning application submitted for The Embankment, Cardiff
Acting on behalf of Vastint UK, Turley has submitted an outline planning application for the comprehensive redevelopment of The Embankment, Cardiff.
We are providing Planning, Strategic Communications, EIA and Economics services for the application which was submitted to Cardiff Council on 26 March.
Plans for the scheme were first released to the public in January 2021 as part of a month-long public consultation period that garnered great community interest. The proposal seeks to deliver sustainable regeneration of the 40-acre site, creating up to 2,500 new homes alongside 54,000 sq m of business space as well as opportunities for leisure, hospitality and commercial uses.
As part of the project team, we have worked closely with Vastint UK, Cardiff Council, architects 3D Reid, landscape designer Planit-IE and Stantec over the past two years to create a vision that will transform this underused area of Cardiff into a thriving new district for the city and its residents.
We will work closely with Cardiff Council throughout the application’s determination period. We look forward to continuing to provide strategic advice to Vastint UK over the years ahead to support the delivery of this landmark scheme.
