Our approach to inclusion and diversity
Our strategic aim is to maintain our people focus to nurture talent, and build an even more diverse and inclusive employee owned company.
We create an inclusive environment and believe that people perform better when they can be themselves.
Our co-owners work with our Leadership Team through our inclusion and diversity group, Embrace, to progress our I & D priorities to:
- Support co-owner life balance through our Freedoms – a blended flexible working model
- Take a proactive approach to supporting wellbeing and resilience (co-owner physical and mental health)
- Create pathways for all to progress on merit
- Close gender pay gap and increase leadership diversity
- Widen representation and develop an inclusive talent pipeline
- Attract people from a range of generations
- Take a proactive approach to unconscious bias
‘Oasis’, our LGBT+ community network, was established by co-owners and we have senior allies supporting I & D.
We are proud members of Real Estate Balance, Stonewall and PREACH Inclusion which provide helpful sounding, benchmarks and guidance.
We are supporters of the British Property Federation, Planning Out, Women in Planning and Building People and we have signed up to the 10000 Black interns initiative.
We have policies in place with regard to equal opportunities including I & D and our Transitioning at Work policy.
We believe that everyone deserves the right to be treated equally and should not be discriminated against because of their differences, such as age, gender, disability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, religion, sexual orientation or educational or professional background.
We are committed to ensuring that we offer equal opportunities to people with disabilities and if an employee becomes disabled while in our employment, we offer appropriate support, guidance and adjustments to their role/environment.
I am proud to be a member of Embrace and work for a company that takes the need for inclusion and diversity in the workplace seriously, particularly within an industry that has historically struggled in such respects. This forms an intrinsic part of our company values, and ensures that we provide an environment that allows everyone to be their true selves at work. Given the ongoing struggles we are facing as part of the pandemic, this culture is more important than ever. The inclusive environment at Turley allows co-owners to feel comfortable in being open and honest with one another, whether this relates to need for flexible working or discussing wellbeing and mental health.
