Jessica Herritty appointed as the East Midlands RTPI Chair

Associate Director, Jessica Herritty has been appointed as the Chair of the East Midlands Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Regional Management Board (RMB) and Regional Activities Committee (RAC). The appointment reflects Jessica's growing role in the East Midlands at Turley and in the wider planning community.

In her new appointment as the East Midlands RTPI RAC/RMB Chair, Jessica will play a leading role in the progression of key planning initiatives within the region, acting as a representative of RTPI members in the region.

As Chair, Jessica will oversee an active programme of events in the region, co-ordinated with the RTPI and wider committee, including the Presidential visit and Awards for Planning Excellence, as well as sitting on the judging panel for her second consecutive year. Jessica will also represent the region at RTPI conferences and events to offer key thought leadership on emerging topics at the heart of the region, building relationships with local built environment organisations, politicians and other relevant regional groups.

This appointment complements Jessica’s role as Co-Chair of the East Midlands Women in Planning Committee. Jessica adds:

“I am thrilled to take on the role of Chair for the East Midlands RTPI Regional Activities Committee and Regional Management Board. This opportunity allows me to further contribute to the planning community in a region that I am extremely passionate about and that is experiencing dynamic growth and development. My focus will be on engaging with planners across the region, collaborating with universities and schools to enhance education on and in planning, and capitalising on the unique opportunities within the East Midlands for planning.

As we continue to expand our presence in the region at Turley, I look forward to continuing to develop and grow my network of planning and built environment professionals in the East Midlands through my committee roles.”

This appointment follows our recent expansion into the East Midlands, opening a new office in Nottingham last year. Our East Midlands team has been contributing to major projects in the region, including recently our Planning, Strategic Communications, Heritage and Townscape and Economics inputs to support Cityheart’s successful appointment as Developer at the £130m+ Northampton regeneration project at the Four Waterside and Marefair sites, with our EIA team also inputting moving forward, plus the progression of IM Properties’ Hinckley Park scheme in Hinckley & Bosworth borough which is under construction.
