A new £225m industrial and logistics park at Hinckley
Our role
- We established a bespoke planning strategy to unlock the development potential of an unallocated Greenfield site for a major industrial and logistics development. Our strategy centred on submission of a hybrid planning application to meet a specific occupier requirement with supporting enabling development.
- Our team led and managed the planning application and Environmental Impact Assessment process, resulting in a robust submission and limiting risks during the determination of the application.
- We successfully made a case based on the economic benefits flowing from the development outweighing limited environmental effects, and following a detailed assessment of alternative sites as required by policy.
Results
- Planning permission was secured for the development, which will provide approximately 1.2 million sq ft of industrial and logistics floorspace.
- Gained full planning permission for a parcel hub to meet the specific occupier requirement and their programme for delivery, and a 500,000 sq ft unit which has been built out speculatively to meet market demand.
- The project will provide a number of significant economic benefits, including the creation of 2,396 gross direct jobs on site during operation and an annual contribution of £48.7 million in GVA economic output across Hinckley and Bosworth.
