Now is the time of the Smart City: Spotlight on Bristol’s Climate Smart City Challenge Bid
Over the past year and a half, the Smart City has become much more than a concept as our cities have started to function in an entirely different way. We have seen an overwhelming increase in our reliance upon data, technology and the virtual world. And Bristol is no exception.
As a city, Bristol has won a bid to become a host for the Nesta Climate Smart Cities Challenge. This global innovation competition will shine a light on harnessing technology to combat the climate crisis and reducing greenhouse gases in the city.
So, ‘Smart’ is definitely a priority for Bristol in achieving its ambitions - but is it a priority for planning?
