New all through school on the Greenwich Peninsula
Our role
- Working with Penoyre and Prasad architects, we advocated the provision of a new all through school on the rapidly developing Greenwich Peninsula.
- Our Planning team led on the pre-application process, planning submission and ongoing negotiation with RB Greenwich in developing the design and wider considerations for the site.
- We led on the stakeholder engagement on the project, running and organising public exhibitions and wider project engagement with the local community in gathering support for the project and input on design.
- We also briefed councillors and spoke at planning committee on the project, which received a positive recommendation and is now under construction.
Results
- The innovative design makes the most efficient use of a constrained site to deliver a high quality new school for 1,400 students of all ages, including sports facilities and significant play space.
- Awareness of the wider Greenwich Peninsula Masterplan and neighbouring emerging development plots in considering the impact on the proposed design and configuration of the site, highways and transport and other considerations.
- Successful advocacy of the proposals to the local community and to Greenwich councillors.
