Since joining the company in 2013 as a Director, Stephen has progressed to the role of Senior Director, Head of Planning North. In addition to leading the Northern Planning Team, he has been a member of our Leadership Team since 2018.
He has led a range of major projects across the northern regions including Hulton Park in Bolton and Protos in Ellesmere Port and continues to advise on a number of housing and commercial developments, as well as energy infrastructure.
Stephen will take on responsibility for our Leadership Team and company strategy and will be handing over his Head of Planning North role as part of co-ordinated succession. He will continue to advise clients on a broad range of projects.
Dave will continue to oversee our governance and lead our Board of Directors. He will also continue client work and engagement with Government and across the industry.
The move comes at a time of continuing growth for our business, following a 15% increase in headcount since 2020, and will enable a smooth transfer of leadership.
Speaking about the appointments, Dave Trimingham, Executive Chair, said:
“We are committed to providing opportunities for our next generation leaders and welcoming Stephen to the post of Chief Executive is the next step.
“I look forward to working alongside him and sharing my experience to support our strategic direction and trajectory.”
Newly appointed Chief Executive Stephen, added:

“I feel truly honoured to be stepping into the Chief Executive role and I will do my very best to oversee our continued positive development.
“With Dave moving into his new position we can enable a seamless transition for our business and clients. This carefully facilitated succession and collaborative approach will ensure continuity, as responsibilities are passed on.
“It is a really exciting time for us, and I’m looking forward to working with our senior leaders and all our co-owners in further developing a business we are already very proud of.”
