A county ground with an international reputation and vision for growth
We have provided long-term advisory services for the redevelopment of Edgbaston Stadium and their satellite Edgbaston Foundation Sports Ground, Smethwick over recent decades.
Established in 1885, Edgbaston Stadium is the historic home of Warwickshire County Cricket Club and one of the UK’s most iconic cricket venues. Having hosted international cricket since 1902, the stadium has evolved into a world-class sporting and events destination with a capacity of around 25,000, playing a significant role in Birmingham’s economic, cultural and visitor offer.
Shaping the vision
Our role includes strategic planning, communications advice and planning policy engagement. Through our partnership with Birmingham City Council, we have helped secure planning permission for stadium improvements and established a development framework encompassing residential, hotel, office and leisure uses.

Enabling evolution
We have secured planning permission for a range of enhancements at Edgbaston Stadium, including replacement roof canopies, the creation of a premium “Sky Bar” hospitality area and the adjacent Corkfield residential scheme, helping to enhance the visitor experience and public realm. Through a programme of projects delivered at varying scales, and with careful consideration of cricketing seasons, funding requirements and stakeholder priorities, we have enabled Warwickshire County Cricket Club to continue optimising the stadium as a key city asset, supporting its ongoing evolution in response to the demands of the global sports and hospitality sectors.
