Our role
- A planning application and listed building consent was submitted to Liverpool City Council in September 2023, comprising the conversion of a row of Georgian listed terraces and the construction of a part 4, part 7-storey block, to provide 83 Homes apartments and ground floor commercial use along Duke Street.
- Our Planning, Heritage and Sustainability teams advised in respect of expert advice to support both the pre-application and planning application submission.
- The site had previous permission for an aparthotel, however this application was submitted in response to the significant need and demand for city-centre Homes units.
Results
- The submitted scheme represents an opportunity to provide a quality and standard of Homes product that is lacking in the city centre.
- The redevelopment of the listed buildings along with the new build element ensures that the status of Duke Street is maintained through sensitive design and complementing features.
- The development assists in the Ropewalks area realising its full potential and vision as a key regeneration area, further supported through the introduction of ground floor commercial uses.
- Through physical regeneration of a prominent site, the proposed development will positively impact the street scene and bring in new investment to the area.
