Planning team provided pre-application planning strategy and advice, led on the pre-application engagement with the LPA, submitted the application for full planning and LBC, and guided it to Planning Committee where members resolved to grant planning permission.
The proposals included the refurbishment and conversion of two Grade II listed buildings, which both formed part of the historic former Birmingham Accident Hospital.
Heritage team assessed and advised on the architectural and historic interest of the listed buildings feeding into the design and strategy for their refurbishment.
Inputs provided from almost full range of our services including Strategic Communications, Sustainability, EIA, Economics, Heritage and Townscape.

Provided strategic planning advice through pre-application discussions and during determination of the application, leading to unanimous approval at planning committee with all matters resolved.
Heritage and Townscape team inputted into the design and pre-app discussions to help design a scheme with significant massing but that was sensitive to the Grade II listed buildings
Strategic Communications team successfully engaged with local residents and councillors helping to achieve planning committee approval.
The development will provide much needed PBSA and BTR accommodation, boosting Birmingham’s housing supply and supporting the identified need for new homes within the city centre.
Refurbishing and breathing new life into two historic listed buildings, securing their long-term future. The development will open-up the area around the listed buildings through the provision of high-quality public realm and provide public access to the commercial unit to be located in the western listed building.
