High-density redevelopment of Colosseum Retail Park
Our role
- We submitted a planning application to transform Colosseum Retail Park, to the east of Enfield in north London. The application has been made on behalf of NEAT Developments and BlackRock.
- Colosseum Retail Park is an out-of-town retail park anchored by B&Q within an area identified for regeneration. We made the case that the current use and physical form of the site must change if we are to realise the Government and London Mayoral agenda for the delivery of high-density housing in accessible but under-utilised locations, and the creation of beautiful places.
- We provided EIA management, Sustainability and Economics services.
Results
- A large public plaza, known as the Heart, would be the centrepiece of the proposed development.
- The proposed buildings would be up to 29-storeys in height and would provide 444 new homes in the first phase, and up to 1,356 home in later phases, with a health centre, crèche, commercial workspace and retailing floorspace.
- Two new parks would be created, equivalent in size to 65 tennis courts.
