The hybrid application received outline approval for approximately 200 new market and affordable homes, alongside full planning permission for the construction of a major new medical centre. This follows extensive engagement with council officers, East Herts District councillors, county and town representatives, and the local community.
Director, Planning, Steven Kosky said:
"This approval is a testament to the collaborative efforts between the developers, their project team, East Herts Council officers, the existing medical practice and the wider community – and sets an exemplary standard for contemporary, infrastructure-led, mixed-use development. We are pleased to have provided support across a number of Turley services to help deliver this positive outcome for Taylor Wimpey and the local community.”
Director, Strategic Communications, James Simondson said:
"We are delighted with this result for Taylor Wimpey, which is testament to their commitment to delivering an infrastructure-led approach to their new communities. The provision of a new state-of-the-art medical centre will vastly improve and enhance health service provision in Hertfordshire. It was a pleasure to support this application through delivering a comprehensive and strategic community and stakeholder engagement programme.”
Designed to meet local infrastructure and housing needs, the development offers a diverse mix of housing types, catering for a range of housing requirements.
The inclusion of a medical centre within the scheme will greatly enhance local healthcare services, providing accessible care for both new and existing residents – expanding healthcare services and related offerings, through a state-of-the-art new centre designed in collaboration with doctors and patients.
