Our Heritage, Townscape & Landscape team reflections for 2021

At the start of the year our team shared a series of short comments reflecting on their professional experiences and future opportunities. This was our way of marking and celebrating a decade since our specialists joined the Turley family; first as a Heritage team, and now the broader Heritage, Townscape, Landscape team.

2021 has been a milestone year for the team. But of course it has been an unprecedented 12 months for all of us in many different ways; as we continue to face the challenges presented by the pandemic.

View our 10 years of Turley Heritage & Townscape showcase page here, where in his final article, Richard Brookes reflected on the many excellent professionals that he had worked with during his 10 years as part of this specialist team, and the importance of people to the continuing success of our service. The last 12 months have been no different; with a number of key appointments adding to our ever expanding multi-disciplinary team across our national network.

We have welcomed to our London, Manchester and Birmingham Heritage, Townscape and Landscape hubs:

  • James Sugrue – Associate Director
  • Edwina Coward – Associate Director
  • Victoria Bellamy – Senior Consultant
  • Claire Hines – Senior Consultant
  • Tristan Wilson - Senior Consultant
  • Harry Best-Shaw – Assistant Consultant

We now comprise over 20 co-owners operating from five of our locations: London; Manchester; Cambridge; Birmingham; and Scotland, providing a nationwide spread of resource, knowledge and experience. The capabilities of our team have continued to broaden to cover the closely-linked disciplines of built heritage, townscape, landscape and visual impact assessment.

Our experience and success harnesses the capability of these interconnected disciplines in a combined approach for project work as a key advantage and selling point, delivering an added level of robustness in advice to clients. This also allows for an improved level of efficiency and effectiveness in our work across these professional disciplines; to advise on good design across diverse contexts, and so to offer support to emerging development proposals.

Cambridge and London teams

We look forward to many more opportunities in the New Year to celebrate our success as a team and with our many valued clients as we look towards the next 10 years!

We also warmly welcome our new starters to our team for 2021/22.
