Turley re-launches internal LGBTQ+ Network this Pride month
This June, Pride at Turley – our new-look and re-energised network for LGBTQ+ co-owners and allies – has launched, bringing our co-owners together and enacting internal and external change.
June marks Pride Month, dedicated to celebrating and commemorating lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer pride; rooted in the Stonewall riots of 1969.
Turley is proud to be an inclusive and diverse business, which forms part of our commitment to ‘Good Growth’ in our company strategy. We however recognise there is more to do – across gender, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, neurodiversity, social mobility, mental health and sexual orientation – in a wider social context where the rights and freedoms of marginalised communities are under threat. This includes our support of 10,000 Black Interns, Career Ready, Real Estate Balance (REB) and PREACH Inclusion.
Pride at Turley is the culmination of this effort in creating a truly inclusive and diverse business in an LGBTQ+ perspective, and launched this month supporting co-owners who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer, amplifying the voice of allies, and promoting change both at work and within the built environment.
The new network will look to connect co-owners, hold events and create safe spaces; create an even more inclusive culture working closely with our leadership and People & Culture team; and, raise awareness of LGBTQ+ issues and topics and Turley’s progress in these areas.
As part of the launch, network lead Neil Woodhouse has featured within The Planner, which features more on how we are supporting LGBTQ+ co-owners in the workplace: https://www.theplanner.co.uk/2023/06/28/lgbtq-representation-planning-striving-change-inside-out
