Turley Sustainability support L&Q Estates at Northstowe New Town
Our role
- In 2014, our Sustainability team provided advice to L&Q Estates with regards to the development of a new sustainability strategy to support the Phase 1 planning application for 1,500 residential units at Northstowe New Town, South Cambridgeshire. Phase 1 was the first detailed planning application following the granting of outline consent for the development of up to 10,000 new homes.
- Working with the design team and liaising with members of South Cambridgeshire District Council (SCDC), we developed a commercially and technically viable sustainability strategy that met many of the original aspirations from the outline application, but with due regards to technological and design evolution since 2006.
Results
- The revised strategy was approved with the first dwellings currently under construction.
