Sustainable logistics park situated near Liverpool

Our role

  • We have advised Royal London on their land interest at Atlantic Park, Sefton for several years. The 16.8 ha Strategic Employment Location has been partially developed pursuant to an outline consent granted in the early 2000s, however numerous economic factors have led to the need to set a new direction for the park, which steers away from traditional office uses.
  • We have provided ongoing planning strategy advice, EIA, Economics and Strategic Communication services, all of which have culminated in the submission of two planning applications for circa. 74,000 sq m of high-quality Class E(g)iii, B2 and B8 floorspace.

Results

  • Our multi-service approach, including EIA strategy advice and public and political consultation exercises, have assisted in eliminating risk to Royal London. We provided a steering to ensure that the scheme is future-proofed and benefits from maximum flexibility.
  • Royal London’s proposals for Atlantic Park would ultimately bring forward one of Sefton’s largest vacant employment sites in a comprehensive manner, creating around 1,100 jobs during the operational phase and contributing £62.9 million to the economy each year. The development seeks to address a pressing need for modern and sustainable logistics floorspace in the North West whilst being strategically located to benefit from and contribute to the success of the Port of Liverpool.
